A Town of Grey
The Town of Grey
Hey there, I'm janel ornedo and I want to share my experience about calamity or disaster that I was encountered a few months ago. When the year 2020 entered we doesn't expected that their was will happened to the country where I lived in. I am almost stay here for more than 15 years because since the day I was born, Batangas is one of my only home and I am proud of being batangueña. My province is known for having many tourists destinations mostly the Taal Volcano which is popular because of its unique appearance. It was an active complex volcano that is located in the Taal Lake, this volcano was the smallest among all but it is too dangerous when it comes to errupt.
My Experience During the
Volcanic Eruption
In the 12th of January 2020, Sunday it was afternoon and that time I am done to prepared my stuffs which I used in school. Then it was 3 o'clock when I saw my family came home from a party, we doesn't noticed that their was an eruption that day. We are all in the terrace and after a while we felt a light shaking which is an earthquake happen, afterwards the childrens outside that are playing suddenly screaming their was a different formation of clouds. They open the television and we informed that Taal volcano was erupting which is began at 11 am onwards. When it turns to night, it's clearly see the thunders coming from the ash clouds, I was amaze because the volcano show big light on the surrounding of clouds while erupting.

When morning comes, the Taal Volcano was countinue to erupted that resulted a lots of ashfalls which is dangerous to our health, that's why the people who live in the nearest of volcano was needed to evacuate for there safety. The ash fall thicker as the time passed by so we need to use mask for protection in respiratory system. There are some families lost their homes and economic livelihood. I and my family was lucky that time because we aren't leaving our homes and we still staying in house. The eruption was dangerous so that the classes was suspended in more than a week for us to be safe and their are times we experiencing aftershocks. I handled the situation by staying at house and watching news so that we updated on the happenings in the eruption of volcano. I take some prayers every night hoping that everyone's are safe and stop the eruption of Taal Volcano. As the past few weeks we are blessed, after the disaster we back into normal when the volcano was gradually weakened from eruption but their are some people doesn't allowed them to go back at home mostly who live at the Taal island because there are chances that will erupt again without exact time and date. It's truly that nature is our enemy and we haven't power to control but whether we are prepared, we will survive on it.
